It was arranged by staff from Tesco at Victoria Park in the town.

More than 20 youngsters aged four to 11-years-old donned aprons and chef hats to learn all about different fruit and vegetables, how to prepare and cook them and recipe ideas.

Tracey Boswell, community champion at Tesco Wellingborough, said: “We were delighted to arrange this activity and I know how much everyone enjoyed it.

“The event was part of a programme of activity to help the local community with a focus on children eating healthily and learning cookery skills.”

Victoria Centre manager Katrina Cook said: “It was a great learning experience for all those who took part and we are very grateful to Tesco for arranging it.

“It was a chance for the children to try out new types of food and learn new life skills.

“The recipe cards were a great idea so that the children could take them home and share food ideas with their parents.”

The Victoria Centre works in partnership with other community organisations to support local people as well as focusing on the welfare of residents and community issues.
