RAM raiders struck at a county bank overnight.
Police officers are investigating the attack at HSBC in Thrapston.
At shortly after 3am this morning, a stolen cherry picker was used to ram the front of the bank in High Street.
The offenders – one described as a man wearing a balaclava and carrying a baseball bat – stole the cash machine from the outside wall and made off in another vehicle, believed to be a blue Vauxhall Astra.
Another vehicle, a Mitsubishi Shogun, is also thought to be involved in this crime. These vehicles left the scene, in the direction of Islip and Denford.
The cherry picker had been stolen from premises in the nearby village of Lowick in January.
It is not known at this stage how much money has been stolen in the raid.
The crime is being investigated by Wellingborough CID.
