It may be raining but fans of vintage transport are still enjoying the exhibits at an annual vintage transport rally.

Kettering Vintage Rally and Steam Fayre in Cranford has beautifully maintained vintage vehicles including steam engines, steam organs, vintage tractors and military vehicles as well as trade stalls, a beer tent and attractions to keep the children entertained, including rides pulled by miniature steam engines.

The fair’s founder, Michael Spitteler, said: “We had a very busy day yesterday with the good weather and there was a lovely atmosphere.

“There are about 850 exhibitors.”

Mr and Mrs Smith, from County Durham, are fans of the show. Mrs Smith said: “We drove past it on our way back from Devon two years ago and came in to look. We’ve come back ever since. It’s much bigger than anything we have up North with more exhibits. Mr Smith added: “The beer tent is good as well.”

Money from the fair goes to various good causes including St John’s Church in Cranford.
