People who use Corby station have asked for an extra service in the morning.
The station re-opened on April 27, 2009, and since then passenger numbers have increased year-on-year.
A Friends Of Corby Station Group was set up at the end of last year to press for further improvements. Member David Fursdon said: “In particular passengers tell us they want a 10.17 train from Corby on weekdays as the gap between 9.17 and 11.17 is inconvenient. If it were put right it would attract even more passengers.”
An East Midlands Trains spokesman said: “Since the opening of Corby station in April 2009, services have been successful and we are pleased to be currently providing 12 direct services a day between Corby and London.
“Due to the existing rights of a freight train operator and the restrictions this places on this route, we are unable to operate a service between 09.17 and 11.17. We will look to introduce additional services if this becomes feasible in the future.”
