Employees at Weetabix have raised more than £2,500 for a cancer charity.

Workers at the firm, which has sites at Burton Latimer and Corby, raised £2,637 for Cancer Research UK by selling and buying tickets for the company’s Christmas raffle.

There were generous prizes from the procurement department and suppliers.

Weetabix employee and chairman of a Cancer Research UK fundraising group, Marjan Bartlett-Freriks, said: “The raffle would not have been such a success without the support of a team of employees who got involved and the generosity of all those who donated prizes. Now in its third year, the Christmas raffle has become renowned around Weetabix for being a great raffle, with good prizes, all for a very worthy cause.”

Gemma Kitching, Cancer Research UK’s fundraising manager for the region, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Weetabix decided to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Their support is amazing.”
