An RAF helicopter which landed in a field in Stanwick last night (Wednesday) after it experienced an engineering issue in flight has taken off.
The helicopter landed at about 6pm yesterday and remained in the field overnight. It took off again just after 10am today (Thursday) after repairs were carried out.
A spokesman from the Ministry of Defence said the helicopter was a Merlin, the type currently serving in Afghanistan, and its base was at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire.
The spokesman said: “They had an engineering issue in flight yesterday which required them to carry out a precautionary landing.”
