Youngsters at the Buccleuch Academy in Kettering completed a project about pirates by dressing up as them for the day.
The Year One children, all aged five and six, invited parents to go along and see what they had learned about pirates during the term. Pupils made their own costumes and props to use on the day.
Class teacher Dawn Simpson said: “We had a pirate party as part of what we call a wow day to wind-up the project. The children dressed up and made healthy kebabs.
“They also played pirate-themed games which involved walking the plank, and searching for buried treasure.
“It was all held in the courtyard we have here at the new school. The children loved it and said it was a really good way to wrap up what they had learned during the term.”
