The annual fundraising extravaganza for Children in Need will kick off this Friday with one special event taking place for a Wellingborough star.
Pudsey the dog, star of television show Britain’s Got Talent, will meet Pudsey the bear, the mascot of Children in Need, and perform a show-stopping “dance off” routine in a bid to raise money for the charity.
Pudsey the dog will be joined on stage by his 17-year-old owner Ashleigh Butler who said she was delighted to be on the show.
She said: “It’s all been filmed and everything already and we had great fun making that.
“It’s really great being part of Children in Need and to help out with a really good cause.”
Ashleigh, from Wellingborough, and Pudsey came to prominence in 2012 when they became the first ever dog act to win ITV’s show Britain’s Got Talent.
Ashleigh and Pudsey will now join a host of celebrity names for the Children in Need fund-raising show, which starts at 7.30pm on Friday night.
There are also a wide variety of events going on in the county in a bid to raise money for Children in Need – including a day of festivities at the Harlequin pub, in Kettering, to raise funds for the charity.
Elsewhere, Carley Phoenix, of Squirrels Nursery, Gainsborough Road, Corby, is doing a sponsored walk to work at the nursery dressed as Pudsey bear and residents of a care home, Southwood House, are joining Sunflower Day Centre for a coffee and cake morning for Children In Need at the Southwood care home.
