A protest is being held in Wellingborough town centre at 11am tomorrow (Saturday) in support of refugees stranded in Calais.

It has been organised by people raising funds and collecting food and clothes to support refugees currently stranded on the French coast.

Northamptonshire Rights and Equality Council is calling on the British government to admit this relatively small number of refugees, compared with the hundreds of thousands of refugees currently in Germany, Austria, Hungary and other European countries.

Members of the public are invited to join the protest, which is expected to last about an hour.
