Builders at Priors Hall Park in Corby have reassured existing residents that their homes are not affected by foundation issues.

The Northants Telegraph reported last week that sales at phase two of The Gateway development had been cancelled after builders discovered foundation issues caused by underground quarry pools.

One buyer told how she had had her £357,000 purchase cancelled just weeks before exchange because of the mystery issues at the site, which is a former quarry used by Corby steelworks.

It came only weeks after the Priors Hall owners BeLa Partnerships went into adminstration

Now David Wilson Homes have sought to reassure people that they are hoping that there will soon be a solution to the issues affecting the 60-home second phase of The Gateway. Phase one is already occupied by new residents.

A spokesperson for David Wilson Homes South Midlands said: “We are working closely with independent engineers to find a solution to the issues at The Gateway.

“The engineers have already highlighted areas of the site where construction can commence, and work has already started. The new range of homes will be on sale in the near future.

“We would like to reassure our existing residents at the development that these issues do not affect the first phase of homes.”
