A pre-school group is celebrating after being named as the best in the north of the county.

Sing and Sign, which is run by Amanda Walker, 36, from Raunds, was recently voted best pre-school by the country’s biggest parenting site, Netmums.

She said: “I’m delighted our class has been crowned the best in north Northamptonshire.

“The Netmums award means so much as it’s voted for by the parents.

“I love running the class and it’s fantastic to know the parents and children enjoy it as much as I do.”

Sing and Sign teaches babies up to two and a half years old to communicate pre-speech.

The group, which runs in Oundle, Kettering, Great Oakley and Rushden, beat off off competition from dozens of other classes in the area – and will be listed as the area’s best on the Netmums website.

Netmums founder Siobhan Freegard said: “Pre-school classes are one of the very best ways to bond with your child and provide hours of fun for all the family.

“We were very impressed by the high standard of classes in North Northamptonshire but Amanda’s Sing and Sign class was a worthy

winner.”
