Members of Corby Steel Diving Club have been congratulated for making a splash during the past year.

The diving club competed at several competitions in 2014, with their strong performances picking up good results and numerous medals along the way.

A solid performance at the Hydro-Novices, allowed the young divers to finish in second place, picking up three gold medals, one silver, and one bronze.

The club also succeeded at the Shipley Novices, finishing in fourth place overall, securing one silver medal and two bronzes.

They ended their year on a high, finishing in third place in the Thistle Trophy Event, as the young divers also managed to pick up three bronze medals in Edinburgh.

Mayor of Corbyb Cllr Anthony Dady recently invited the club members to the mayor’s parlour to congratulate them on their achievements.

He said: “After hearing of The Corby Steel Diving Club’s achievements throughout the year, it was a pleasure to welcome them to the mayor’s parlour to congratulate them on how far they have come since the club was formed.

“I look forward to hearing all about how they get on in their upcoming competitions and wish them all the very best of luck. I have no doubts that they will continue to do Corby proud and represent us so positively in the diving world.”

The club will compete in the ASA National Skills Finals in May.
