A bride-to-be from Corby has scooped £10,000 in the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Angela Crabb, 43, couldn’t believe her luck when her postcode, NN18 0EY, was drawn as the winning £10,000 Saturday Street Prize.

Angela, who has only been playing since July, said: “I thought we had just won a couple of hundred pounds. I almost died on the spot when ambassador Scott Quinnell revealed the cheque and it was worth as much as it was. We’ve only been playing for a couple of months.”

Angela, who works as a carer for Velvet Glove Care looking after the elderly in their homes, plans to marry her fiance Daniel in May next year.

She said: “I’ve already spent all the money. We’re getting married next year, so a big chunk of it will be spent on getting the wedding just perfect. I’ve already picked my dress but now, with a bigger budget, I think I’ll have to look round to see if I can find my dream one.”

People’s Postcode Lottery players have raised more than £21.3m for charities and good causes across the country to date.

Ambassador Scott Quinnell said: “Players are raising such amazing amounts every single week and are supporting great projects in their local area.”
