A debate about the future of the UK’s membership of the European Union is being held in Wellingborough from 7pm tomorrow evening (Wednesday, October 2) at the town’s Victoria Centre in Palk Road.

Paul Crofts, one of the organisers, said: “This is the first of many debates that will take place over the next few months in the lead-up to the European election next year.”

The debate will be independently Chaired by BBC Radio Northampton journalist Martin Heath and the participants will be Linda Wooding (Labour Party), Allan Shipham (UKIP), and George Smit (Liberal Democrats)

Representatives of the Conservative Party and Green Party have also been invited to take part but have not yet confirmed their attendance.

Mr Crofts added: “All are welcome to attend the debate and participate in the discussion.

“The debate has been organised by Wellingborough Labour Party in collaboration with Independent Socialists in Wellingborough to support debate and discussion around current issues of public interest and concern.”
