Members of the Save Irchester Village group will present a 2,012 signature petition to the mayor of Wellingborough on, Tuesday, June 26.
The group, which is against plans to build 124 homes outside the village boundaries, will hand over the petition to Cllr Ken Harrington at a council meeting in Swanspool House, Wellingborough.
They previously presented a copy of the petition to Wellingborough and Rushden MP Peter Bone, who will present it to Parliament.
Group chairman Chris Stenning will make the presentation to Cllr Harrington before making a short speech.
He said: “With the new Localism Bill, the views of local people are now key in development decisions. In addition to the 500 individual objections already logged against this development, this petition shows the overwhelming opposition to this and similar proposals which extend our village boundary.
“We are working as a village on a Parish Plan to articulate what we do need in Irchester. This plan covers new homes, sports facilities, medical and support services, jobs and education and will focus on meeting the needs of all the village.”
