Five people have been arrested after police made a significant drugs haul at a house in Corby.
Officers raided the address in Dorking Walk on the Kingswood Estate late last night (Thursday) after they were given a tip-off from a local source.
They discovered hundreds of cannabis blooms estimated to be worth thousands of pounds drying on washing lines.
The electrics had been bypassed, causing a dangerous fire hazard.
Five men were taken into custody and are being questioned by officers.
PC Mark Walker said the house was largely unoccupied and had been used as a production facility for the drug.
He said: “The cannabis hanging up to dry was ready for sale.
“We have spent the day removing plants from the house and collecting evidence.
“The people who were running this operation had bypassed the electricity which is extremely dangerous. It’s a terraced house and is a significant fire risk to those people living here.”
A front bedroom at the property had been converted into a production facility and ventilated through the roof.”
