Police have named the man who died in an accident on Friday night as 35-year-old James Matthew Quinn, of Ashton Vale, Bristol.

The accident took place at about 11.30pm on Friday on the A45 between Weedon and Dodford.

Pedestrian Mr Quinn was in collision with a black Chrysler Voyager, being driven by a 37-year-old man.

He sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Officers investigating the accident are appealing for any motorists who may have seen a man walking along the carriageway of the A45 between 11.15pm and 11.30pm to contact them.

They believe that at least one motorist slowed and stopped in the carriageway after spotting Mr Quinn in the road on Friday night.
