Police name cyclist who died after early morning crash

Police have named the cyclist who died following a crash near Moulton on Tuesday morning.

Officers have today (Wednesday) named the victim as Tony Pickering, 52, of Gayhurst Close, Moulton.

Mr Pickering was taken to Northampton General Hospital with serious injuries following the crash, but later died.

A 39-year-old Northampton man, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Mr Pickering died after being in collision with a people carrier in Boughton Lane, near Moulton village, at about 6.25am on Tuesday.
