Police are hunting the driver of a 4x4 which crashed into a motorbike, leaving the rider with a broken ankle/foot.

The collision happened at about 11.30pm on Friday July 17 at junction 8 on the eastbound side of the carriageway.

A motorcyclist was travelling in lane three when he was hit from behind by a beige or brown-coloured 4x4 styled vehicle, possibly a Nissan.

This caused the motorcyclist to hit the central barrier before careering across all three lanes where the rider fell off his bike onto the nearside verge.

The 4x4 vehicle did not stop and continued eastbound on the A14.

The rider has sustained a broken right ankle/foot as a result of this collision.

Police are appealing for witnesses and help to identify the 4x4 vehicle involved.
