Prime Minister David Cameron has pledged to name and shame employment agencies which have been fined for not paying the minimum wage.
The promise arose after a question by Corby MP Andy Sawford in Parliament following fines levied on two Corby agencies last year.
Mr Sawford said at present, the Government was protecting the confidentiality of agencies which had been fined.
However, Mr Cameron said: “We are the first government to name and shame companies that fail to pay the minimum wage.
“We have revised the scheme to make prosecution easier.
“The names of those companies which have been found to be breaching the law will be named very very soon.”
Taking to Twitter after Mr Cameron’s announcement, Mr Sawford said: “Very pleased that the Prime Minister has promised he will publish the names of the Corby agencies found not paying the minimum wage.”
