A diseased horse chestnut on a village green has been replaced with a younger tree that was grown from an acorn in someone’s garden in Kettering.

Susan Ramsay didn’t know what to do with the oak sapling in her garden and asked the woodland team at the Buccleuch estate if they would like it. It was planted on Weekley village green by John Litman, who has been an estate forester for more than 45 years and planted the original horse chestnut 30 years ago.
