Plans have been submitted to build a warehouse on an industrial estate in Desborough.

Povoas Packaging, which provides polythene bags to industries, has applied to create additional warehouse space on undeveloped land adjacent to its current warehouse in Stoke Albany Road.

The expansion will create 10 full-time jobs, with staff sharing facilities with the existing building.

If approved, the building would be 865sq m and would have 11 car parking spaces and eight cycle spaces.

The company currently runs a stock-holding facility, which has been so successful it feels it necessitates the provision of the proposed additional warehouse space.

The land is currently somewhat overgrown and includes a public footpath running parallel to the eastern boundary, which would be paved with porous paving if approved.

A decision on the application is expected by January 14, 2016.
