ORGANISERS are busy planning the biggest Raunds Music Festival yet.
The 11th Raunds Music Festival will take place on the May Bank Holiday weekend and will run from Thursday, May 3, to Sunday, May 6.
This year organisers aim to widen its appeal to a wider audience.
The festival will feature a significantly expanded programme which organisers hope will provide something for everyone, including festival events, concerts and activities.
Festival organiser Bob Fisher said the event was good value for money.
He said: “This is our most ambitious festival to date and is a milestone in the festival’s development. We all love music and we hope that this shows in the excellent and diverse line up for 2012.
“For as little as £6, festival-goers can enjoy internationally acclaimed artists and weekend tickets are only £35.”
This year’s festival will include concerts, sessions, dancing and workshops.
The festival headliners will include Little Johnny England, The Martin Simpson Trio, The Melrose Quartet, The Jackie Oates Band, Clive Gregson, Les Barker, Three Men on Third and Ock’n’Dough.
Raunds Community Choir will perform a mixed programme ranging from folk songs to gospel on the Saturday.
Mr Fisher said: “There is nowhere else in the county where you will be able to see and hear such quality under one roof.
“The ticket prices are subsidised so this enables us to ensure as many people as possible are able to see such excellent acts. Tickets are on sale now locally and through our website and are already selling fast.”
The festival is a not-for-profit event which is run entirely by volunteers.
