Thousands of people from around the world took part in this year’s Waendel Walk over the weekend.

The internationally-renowned walking festival began on Friday evening and ran until Sunday.

The popular event has been running for nearly four decades and the weekend of walking, swimming and entertainment has a long history of fundraising.

It usually attracts more than 5,000 people from around the world.

As well as walking, The Castle hosted free entertainment all weekend, with performances from the Wellingborough Music and Arts Centre and talented musicians from the area including Paul Strummer and Amy Claire Music.

There was also the Wellingborough Waendel beer festival at All Saints Church Hall in Midland Road, Wellingborough.
