A poorly Corby boy’s bid to get as many people as possible to wear yellow today has really taken off!
Seth Lane, five, suffers from a rare condition which means he has no immune system.
He has been living with his family in a sterile room, nicknamed a bubble, at the Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle since January.
When his mum and dad, Leanne and Nik Lane, posted a video online of the youngster asking for people to wear yellow – his favourite colour – today, and post photos of themselves online, they could not have expected the reaction they have had.
The video has been watched almost eight million times and has captured imaginations worldwide.
Pictures of people in Hungary, Australia, the Philippines, Orgegon, Miami, Los Angeles and New York, as well as of Corby firms such as RS Components and Specsavers, have been posted on Twitter.
Pupils at Beanfield Primary School, which Seth attends when he is well enough, all dressed in yellow to show their support for their schoolmate.
