Staff at the Pets at Home stores in Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough will take part in a national fundraising drive during October in order to raise money for local animal rescues.

From Wednesday, October 3, to Tuesday, October 30, store teams will be running a number of activities to raise awareness and funds for local deserving animal charities.

The fundraising drive is an initiative run by Support Adoption For Pets, the charity Pets at Home established and supports.

A Pets at Home spokesman said: “Our nationwide fundraising drives have become a permanent fixture in our calendar as they give us the chance to increase awareness of pet adoption and raise money for local animal rescues at the same time. Our last fundraising campaign raised £137,000; however this is the first time we’ve run the initiative for an entire month so we’re hoping to beat that amount this time round.

“We’ll be holding a number of activities for customers to take part in and we have some great prizes to be won.”

Raffle tickets will be on sale for £1 at all stores giving customers the chance to win some prizes, including £1,000 worth of Thomson Holiday vouchers, an iPad 3, a 40” 3D TV, a Kindle Touch, free pet food for a year and £100 worth of Love2shop vouchers.

Support Adoption For Pets charity wristbands are also available for customers to buy for £1 and suppliers Iams and Eukanuba will be donating five per cent from every product sold during October to the campaign.

The spokesman added: “All of the money raised will be donated to local animal charities who are working so hard to find loving new homes for pets within the community.”
