Little Emmie Naylor, three, couldn’t resist giving Peppa Pig a cuddle when the popular children’s character called at Corby’s new Tesco store.

It opened on Thursday (January 24) and the celebrations continued at the weekend with a family fun day.

Peppa Pig caused quite a stir and was more than happy to pose for pictures with young fans. There was also a free craft workshop for children.

Store manager George King said: “Peppa Pig was incredibly popular and children were really excited to meet her. Lots of the younger visitors were also eager to have a go at the free craft workshop.

“Events like these are a great way for us to thank our customers for their support in our first week.”

On Saturday (February 2) the store has a free cash cube, from 11am until 4pm, when customers will have a chance to grab a share of £1,500 in gift cards to spend in the store.

Mr King said: “Since opening the feedback from customers has been fantastic. The additional services such as our beauty world and clothing department are what customers are really excited about.”

The store is now open from 0.01am on Monday until midnight on Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
