Pensioner’s necklace was stolen

An 86-year-old woman had her gold neck chain stolen by people believed to be in their 60s.

The victim was walking home along Hedgeway, Northampton, when a dark coloured saloon car stopped beside her.

The front seat male passenger showed her a small map and pointed at it. The victim offered to help, believing they were lost.

The man then tried to put gold coloured jewellery around the victim’s neck and on her hand.

The car then sped away and when the victim arrived home she realised her gold neck chain, of great sentimental value, had been stolen.

The male front-seat passenger is described as Asian, about 60-years-old, of stocky build and wearing a dark jacket.

The female rear-seat passenger is described as an Asian woman, about 65-70 and of thin build.

No description is available of the driver.

The incident took place between 10.15am and 10.35am today, Wednesday, June 20.
