Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by a car in Higham Ferrers

A man who was hit by a car when he stumbled into the road is being treated for serious head injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the accident, which occurred at around 6pm on Tuesday, August 13, in Higham Ferrers.

A blue Ford Focus was travelling along Lancaster Street, towards York Road, when it was in collision with a 69-year-old man, who had stumbled into to the road for unknown reasons.

The man was taken to Walsgrave hospital and is being treated for serious head injuries.

Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information, should call Northamptonshire Police on 101 - alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Elsewhere in the county a motorcyclist was injured after a fall.

The accident took place in Brackley, which took place on Monday, August 12, at around 2.10pm.

The incident happened at the junction of High Street and Pebble Lane. A motorcycle was travelling along High Street when the rider appeared to lose control of the bike and fell from it. The bike continued along the road and collided with two cars. It is believed a fourth vehicle – a white car – may also have been involved.

The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and was taken to Horton Hospital in Banbury.
