Northants Telegraph sports reporter Jon Dunham ran a personal best as he took on two half-marathons to raise money for the Dylan Cecil Memorial Fund.

Jon, who covers the Steelmen, Poppies and Diamonds, first ran in Peterborough on October 9 before repeating his feat in Birmingham on Sunday (October 16).

In doing so he raised £848 for the fund, set up in memory of Kettering youngster Dylan Cecil, who tragically drowned on holiday.

Jon said: “Peterborough was great, I ran a personal best of 1:45:58 which I was delighted about.

“After a week of rest, Birmingham on Sunday was a lot tougher with ‘Jelly Baby Hill’ at the 11-mile mark.

“But I got round in 1:55:31 which I was really pleased with.

“Ultimately, the main aim was to raise money for the Dylan Cecil Memorial Fund and I’m delighted that I have raised £848.

“The generosity of people knows no bounds and I’m extremely grateful to everyone who donated.

“Time to rest up!”
