Patients at Lakelands Day Care Hospice, Corby, said thank you to everyone who supported a recent painting project to redecorate all the complex’s main areas.
Staff, Volunteers and members of the public joined forces during four days to prepare and redecorate the hospice’s day room, kitchen and reception area.
They gave up their free time and worked tirelessly to ensure the patient’s surroundings at the Butland Road hospice are clean, calm and relaxing.
The project was also supported by generous donations of decorating materials from West End DIY on the St James Industrial Estate, Corby, and Brewers Decorating Centre in Crucible Road in the town.
Combined with new blinds from Home Bargainware, the painting party project saved the hospice thousands of pounds which can now be diverted to patient care.
Jackie Henry, at the hospice, said: “The work the volunteers did is amazing and we all love the new look of the dayroom.
“Everyone worked really hard, giving up their time to make the hospice a better place.”
