The plight of residents who were trapped in their homes over Christmas due to flooding in Corby has been raised in the House of Commons.
Families living in the section of Gainsborough Road, near its junction with Blake Road, have called for action to stop flooding which happens after heavy rain.
That section of road was flooded for five days following continued downpours in December.
The town’s MP Andy Sawford asked the secretary of state for environment Owen Paterson to intervene to help end the problem.
He said: “I have been passed around between the Environment Agency, Anglian Water and the county council, but nobody seems to want to take responsibility.
Will the secretary of state step in to help me stop this pass the parcel and get somebody to address this problem?”
Mr Owen advised the MP to write to Dan Rogerson, under-secretary of state for environment, food and rural affairs.
Mr Sawford has already written to the county council on the residents’ behalf.
