Youngsters who would like to take part in a professional theatrical production are invited to auditions.

The Castle theatre in Wellingborough is looking for more than 60 children and young people to take part in its Christmas show.

Auditions for The Adventures of Pinocchio will be held on Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12, at the theatre. On the Saturday they will be held from 10.30am to midday for children aged eight to 10, from 1.30pm to 3pm for 11 to 13-year-olds, and from 4pm to 5.30pm for 14 to 16-year-olds.

On the Sunday there will be another set of auditions at the same times for the same age groups.

The auditions will be taken by the production’s director, Luke Sheppard. Mr Sheppard was the associate director on the RSC’s West End production of Matilda, and is no stranger to working with talented young people.

He also directed The Castle’s 2013 Christmas production, The Hundred and One Dalmatians.

The auditions will take the form of a workshop with elements of singing, acting and dancing. Audition places can be booked by calling the box office on 01933 27007.

An information pack is available to download from www.thecastle.org.uk/pinocchio-auditions, or it can be requested from the box office.

The Adventures of Pinocchio runs from Monday, December 8, to Tuesday, December 30, and tickets can be bought from the box office on 01933 270007 or from the website at www.thecastle.org.uk.
