More details about overnight lane closures on the A14 have been released.

Although the A14 at Kettering has now opened with three lanes, finishing works both during the day and in conjunction with resurfacing works at night are still taking place.

The eastbound carriage towards Cambridge will be done first.

The Highways Agency says this resurfacing is taking place due to the carriageway having deteriorated significantly during the past 12 months, and is advising motorists to allow an extra 15 to 20 minutes on their journey.

Night-time closures are taking place during the following times:

Thursday, May 21, and Friday, May 22, from 8pm to 6am, full closure of eastbound carriageway between J7 and J9;

Thursday, May 21, and Friday, May 22, from 8pm to 6am, westbound Lane 3 closure between J9 and 7;

Thursday, May 28, to Saturday, May 30, from 8pm to 6am, westbound Lane 1 closure between J9 and J7;

Tuesday, May 26, to Friday, June 5, from 8pm to 6am, full closure of eastbound carriageway between J7 and J9;

Friday, June 5, to Saturday, June 20, from 8pm to 6am, full closure of the westbound carriageway between J9 and J7;

Saturday, June 20, to Thursday, July 9, from 8pm to 6am, full closure of westbound carriageway between J9 and J7.

During full carriageway closures long distance traffic travelling between the A1 and M1 are advised to use the strategic diversion route:

Eastbound: Exit the A14 at junction 7 onto the A43. Continue on the A43 until Stanion, at the roundabout take the second exit onto the A6116. Follow the A6116 to re-join the A14 at junction 12.
