There has been a slight month-on-month fall in the number of people from north Northamptonshire who are looking for jobs.
A total of 3,203 claimed the jobseeker’s allowance benefit in December across Corby, East Northants, Kettering and Wellingborough – down from 3,251 in November.
Since December 2013, the figure has dropped from 5,341.
However, there was a slight rise in the rate in Corby (1.7 per cent of the workforce) and in Wellingborough (two per cent).
In Kettering, the figure was also at 1.7 per cent – the lowest level since 2007 – while East Northants’ one per cent was a record low since JSA stats were first recorded in 1992.
