Preparations are being made for Oundle’s Party at the Wharf, which is being held during the town’s international festival.
The event on Saturday, July 12, at the waterfront will include bands, picnics and food and drinks stalls.
Nene Valley Brewery and Waitrose are sponsoring the concert, being held to raise funds for a primary school in the Mbeqweni township in South Africa.
A group of Year 11 students from Prince William School in Oundle will visit Mbeqweni this summer to work with children at its school.
Headlining the Party at the Wharf will be guitarist Ben Smith who has supported Rod Stewart, Ronan Keating, Edwin Starr and Sister Sledge.
To get the party started there will be a line-up of local support bands in collaboration with Prince William School, including Heroes and Cons, a Green Day tribute band, and the Steradents.
People can buy their picnic ingredients from Oundle Food Festival’s street market in the marketplace on Saturday 5 July, and there will be a range of street vendors at the party.
Gates at the party will open at 5pm but people who book a canopy pitch can arrive from 11am.
Tickets are £15 for adults and £10 for under 18s, with no admission charge for children under 12.
On the door they will cost £20 for adults and £15 for young people under 18. A canopy site will cost an additional £20.
