When I started to write my column, my daughter was three years old, about to start nursery.
Now she is a big 10-year-old; obsessed with ponies and Minecraft, and looking forward to applying to secondary school this year. It has been a great seven years of sharing my experiences with you all, but now after much thought, I have decided that the time has come to stop writing my column and move onto other things.
In that regard, this will be my last column for the NorthantsTelegraph.
Over the years I have been thrilled to meet a great many readers who have come up to say hello.
I’ve also acquired an internet troll who prefers to express thoughts through the power of the keyboard.
To my readers, I will miss telling you the goings-on in my life, but with my daughter growing up, and so many book contracts coming my way recently, it really is a perfect time for me to step down and let someone else share their thoughts, memories and opinions with you instead.
There have been many times over the past seven years when I have shared something about my daughter that other parents can relate to as well, and I’ve enjoyed hearing your stories and knowing that I’m not alone with the various things that have happened during my time as a mum.
I will miss that, but would encourage any readers who want to stay in touch, to look me up on Twitter. I can be found under my username of @MMWriterGirl.
Please feel free to give me a follow, and I’ll do the same for you.
Thanks a million to everyone who has followed my life over the years.
I’ve had a blast and I am so grateful for your support.
Perhaps we’ll bump into each other again some day, but until then, au revoir, and in the immortal words of Looney Tunes: “That’s All Folks!”
