“I’m putting on my top hat!” Let me explain.

Last Saturday 30 of us descended on London’s theatreland to watch the musical Top Hat.

It was time for us to switch off from all the rigours of life; time to enjoy each other’s company in a different environment; time to laugh and chat and time to even get our feet tapping.

It was a great show.

2012 has been quite a momentous year for Crazy Hats.

Reaching the £1.5m mark was a milestone we could never have envisaged and at this time of year it is pertinent that I should thank everyone who has contributed to this.

The levels of support we receive are humbling and we are already looking forward to another action-packed year with plans under way for our 11th walk at Wicksteed Park on Sunday, March 24.

Another exciting venture to be introduced for next year is a new complementary therapy service – more details on this soon.

Such is the nature of our work that we do experience some sad times and our hearts go out to the families and friends who have lost loved ones this year and to those undergoing treatment for breast cancer at this time.

On a positive note we also experience many, many happy moments and it is for these that I am putting on my top hat to say how proud and privileged I am for the belief and support of you all for the work we do. Thank you again.

On behalf of the trustees, committee and members I wish you all a very happy Christmas.
