A sports centre in Corby is holding an open day to help people start the new year on a healthier note.
The event is being held at Lodge Park Sports Centre, Shetland Way, on Saturday, January 12, from 1pm until 5pm.
People are invited to go along and take part in taster sessions, including kung fu and kickboxing, disability games, archery, trampolining, netball, cheerleading and football for the under fives.
There will also be 30-minute taster sessions in fitness classes, with the chance to try the vibro gym, sports massage, personal training and teen fit sessions.
Spray tans will be available from Vicky Fromont for half price on the day and the first 10 lucky people to book will only have to pay £5.
Corby Council will also be giving away free loyalty cards, meaning you can pick up discounts every time you visit the centre.
Anyone who tries out at least three of the activities on offer at the open day will receive three months free when they take out annual membership, saving £88.50.
Corby Council’s lead member for community, Cllr John McGhee said: “The open day aims to highlight the many fun and healthy activities that residents can enjoy at Lodge Park Sports Centre. No matter what their age or ability, there will be something for them to enjoy.
“We hope people will come along and get some useful information and pick up a membership form to ensure a fun and healthy 2013.”
Various organisations based at the centre, such as Corby Community Safety Team, MEND and the crèche, will also be on hand to give out information on what they have to offer.
Spaces will be limited on the day and people are advised to book as soon as possible.
