The Israeli Olympic swimming squad is back in Corby to prepare for the 2012 London Games.
Since the team first came to the town last year to train at Corby East Midlands International Pool, five of the Israeli swimmers have successfully qualified for the Olympics.
They have now returned to use the pool as a training venue before the start of the games.
The five swimmers, two coaches and a physiotherapist will be in Corby for three more days before they leave and then return to the town to train from July 19 until July 24.
Despite their busy schedule, they will be visiting The Kingswood School, Corby, on Wednesday, July 4, to give a presentation on their success in the recent 2012 European Championships.
Leader of Corby Council, Cllr Tom Beattie, said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome the Israeli swimmers back to Corby. They are obviously training extremely hard in preparation for the 2012 Games so we are very grateful that they are taking time out to share their experiences with local students.
“Having Olympic swimmers use our facility as their training camp is a real benefit to the borough and brings the Olympic fever that much more alive in Corby. I would like to congratulate the swimmers on qualifying for the London 2012 Games and I wish them all the best of luck.”
