Olympic challenge

RESIDENTS are invited to become community leaders and plan celebrations for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Corby Council is offering people help to organise events and make them a success.

Among the suggestions being put forward include Garden for the Games projects where groups of neighbours get together to create planting schemes in red, white and blue. Pubs, clubs, firms and community groups are being encouraged to hold sports-themes quizzes and on August 4, or Super Saturday, when a total of 25 gold medals will be awarded, residents can get help to organise neighbourhood barbecues.
