Rockingham’s oldest resident Georgina Champion, 93, cut the ribbon and declared its new-look village hall opened.

It has been refurbished with £350,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund and was officially re-opened at the weekend.

The former Victorian school is used for community events, including badminton.

It now boasts an extension and a new kitchen and toilets for the disabled.

After the opening ceremony, guests enjoyed a buffet and had time to enjoy the village flower show.
