One of the UK’s largest distributors of fuel and lubricants has announced that it is moving to a new warehouse at the Telford Way industrial estate in Kettering, creating 14 jobs.

Certas Energy said the move had been made on the back of a five-year contract win for the firm.

A spokesman for the firm said: “In addition to already employing nine new staff members to operate the new facility, Certas Energy is seeking five qualified bulk distribution drivers to join the new team.

“This is a significant move for Certas Energy, which has secured premises in Kettering to house a new lubricant bulk storage and delivery division to accommodate their distribution contract with Shell.

“The Kettering operation will see Certas Energy taking over an unused distribution facility, including investment in a depot infrastructure for a “tank farm” for bulk storage of oil.”

Ross Buckland, head of lubricants for Certas Energy, said: “This is a significant move. Securing the contract with Shell has brought significant investment to the Kettering area.”
