Red Arrows fly over Stanwick

Reader Alwyn York from Raunds captured the moment the famous Red Arrows fulfilled their pledge to fly by the Stanwick Rovers five-a-side tournament on their way home from the week-long Farnborough Airshow.

he said: “I took up position half way down Meadow Lane in Raunds and at about 5.45pm the nine aircraft in formation with landing lights on appeared from the direction of Irthlingborough.

“They switched on their coloured smoke just about over the A6 viaduct near Nene Park and swept gracefully over the Stanwick recreation ground where the event was being held and then on around Raunds to their next commitment at Thorpe near Peterborough three minutes later!

“A beautiful sight to behold and wonderful to see the RAF team supporting local communities.”
