Corby East Midlands International Pool will be closed for public swimming while it hosts Northampton Swimming Club’s Summer Open Swimming Festival this weekend.
The festival will see swimmers of all ages and abilities compete to be the best from all over the county with clubs eager to battle it out to see if they can take the honours.
The event on Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, is the last meet on Northampton Swimming Club’s calendar during the swimming season, providing an opportunity for swimmers to gain long course swimming experience and an end to the race season.
But due to this event, there will be no public swimming, swimming lessons or diving lessons on Saturday and Sunday.
However, visitors can still pop in and take a look at the competitors in action or unwind in the gym, steam room and spa which will continue to operate as normal.
Corby Council’s lead member for community, Cllr John McGhee, said: “We are very pleased to be hosting the Summer Open Swimming Festival and welcome all of the swimmers from across the county to Corby East Midlands International Pool.
“The best of luck to all involved.”
