Police are continuing to appeal for information about the whereabouts of dozens of cats which have gone missing in the past six months.

Northamptonshire Police appealed for help in October to solve the mystery of 30 cats which have failed to return home in recent months.

The majority have gone missing from the Manton Road area of Irthlingborough, but numerous owners contacted the Telegraph to say it was a wider problem, including in Wellingborough, Finedon, Burton Latimer, Rushden, Kettering, Little Stanion and Weldon.

Sergeant Andy Maher said: “We still don’t know what happened to the cats that went missing earlier this year, despite our appeal for information.

“We have not received any evidence about what may have happened to the cats and so I would urge anyone who may have any information to contact us. We would like to speak to anyone who may have any information about where the cats may be.

“If you see a vehicle or people acting suspiciously please call 101 or if you see a crime in progress, then call 999 and please pass as much detail as possible – such as vehicle registration numbers, unique identifying marks and descriptions of persons involved.”
