Nine out of 10 parents in Northamptonshire have been allocated their first choice primary school place for their child for September 2015, the county council has announced.

Almost 9,000 letters have been posted by Northamptonshire County Council to notify families of their child’s allocated school place for the next school year.

Figures show that 8,011 children, (90 per cent) were allocated a place at their first choice school and 671 children (seven per cent) were allocated a place at their second or third choice school

A total of 266 children (three per cent) did not get a place at any of their three preferred schools

Parents who are unhappy with their allocation can join a waiting list for schools where they have been unsuccessful or make a late application for other schools with places available. If they are still unhappy, parents can appeal against their allocation.
