Hundreds of shoppers have had their first look inside the Newlands Centre’s newest store.
Homeware store Textiles Direct opened its doors in the Kettering shopping centre on Friday.
Area manager Lisa Evans, who was in store to help out its two new staff, said: “It’s been a really good response. We’ve had a lot of feedback from customers saying it’s exactly what Kettering needs in the high street.
“It’s been very busy all day long with people coming in and seeing what we do.”
The national chain, which has opened in the former Priceless shop, sells all sorts of items for the home, from feather dusters to curtains bed linen.
Bright orange discount signs beam out from among the stock.
Mrs Evans, who estimated hundreds of shoppers have visited the store since it opened, said its towels, duvet covers and curtains were selling particularly well.
Shopper Sarah Young, of Wellingborough, said: “It looks like a good variety of stock and good prices.
“It’s a good idea because I don’t think there’s a shop that focuses on these things.”
Jenny Haynes, of Thrapston, said: “It’s very colourful and welcoming. It’s nice.
“It’s a good idea and it’s presented nicely. It’s very modern.”
