Insp Clarke said: “I will fill him in on what the issues are in this area and will discuss ways of working together to help the local community.”

Mr Sawford said: “Police and community safety is a priority for me and I know how important it is to people in East Northamptonshire.

“I think the police are doing a great job but I know resources are stretched. I want to show the police in East Northamptonshire that I am really keen to support them and work with them to help keep our community safe.

“I am really pleased that Inspector Vaughan Clarke has taken some time to talk about the policing priorities in this area, and it’s an opportunity for me to talk about issues for people in the constituency, including response times and visible policing in all the towns.”
