The work to rejuvenate Splash Pool in Rushden has won a national award.

Management, design and construction consultancy Pick Everard acted as project manager and supervisor on the £250,000 project on behalf of East Northamptonshire Council to improve facilities at the pool.

And it has now won the Small Project of the Year category at the NEC Awards.

Pick Everard was appointed through the national Scape project and cost management framework.

Scape framework director Adrian Ceney said: “This was a challenging project for us in terms of timescales as we had just a two week lead in time, a very tight timescale and budget to work with as well as political risks due to a potential penalty for East Northamptonshire Council should a delay have occurred.

“We worked together with the council and Jeakins Weir to ensure a transparent and collaborative approach was adopted, providing excellent results on time.

“The NEC Awards are all about collaboration and this project was a perfect example of working together as a project team to deliver for the client, and I am delighted this has been recognised.”

The NEC Awards focus on those projects which have achieved high levels of collaboration and the demonstration of good practice as a result.
